Janmejay Sai Babu, born in 1948, is a renowned Chhau dancer and guru specializing in Mayurbhanj Chhau. He has been teaching this dance form for over 40 years and was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2017 for his excellence. His grandfather, Radhmohan Sai Babu, performed Chhau dance at the Mayurbhanj royal court, inspiring Janmejay's dedication to this art. He started his career in 1972 in the central government's culture department before founding his own school, Gurukul Chhau Dance Sangam, in Delhi. Both of his sons also perform and teach Chhau dance.
