He previously lived in Lappeenranta and currently resides in Tikkala, Tohmajärvi, with his wife Sari and their daughter Onerva. A left-handed bassist, Hongisto plays with a pick and uses distortion in various songs by the band. He contributed vocals to the song "Hunninkolla" on Kotiteollisuus's EP.
