János Becsey is a retired Hungarian Paralympic swimmer born on February 2, 1968. He competed in six Paralympic Games, winning five medals, including two gold medals at the 1992 Summer Paralympics in Barcelona. Inspired to swim after watching the 1976 Summer Olympics, he began training at age six. Becsey has cerebral palsy affecting his right side, a result of oxygen deprivation and a stroke he suffered as an infant.
