János Fazekas was a Romanian politician active in the Romanian Workers' Party (PMR) and later the Romanian Communist Party (PCR). Born on February 15, 1926, in Lupeni, he served in various significant roles, including a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee from 1954 to 1965. He was also part of the Executive Committee from 1967 to 1974 and the Political Executive Committee from 1974 to 1982. Fazekas held the position of Deputy Prime Minister from 1965 to 1982 and held several ministerial offices during his political career.
