János Ginsztler (March 23, 1943 – July 7, 2019) was a Hungarian engineer and academic known for his contributions to engineering sciences. He studied mechanical engineering and welding engineering and earned a Ph.D. in materials science in Budapest in 1988. In 1989, he became a professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, where he also served as director of the Institute of Engineering Further Education. He was a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Academia Europaea and served as president of the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences.
