János Kis was a Hungarian informatics journalist and expert who contributed to the field of computer science since the 1980s under the name Johannes. He focused on the relationship between IBM PCs and viruses, promoting the foundations of computer security. Kis was integral in creating and operating VirNet BBS, one of Hungary's first bulletin board systems focused on virus protection. He also founded and was the chief editor of the euroASTRA news portal until his death. Additionally, he served as the secretary of the Lifestyle section of the National Association of Hungarian Journalists.
