She graduated from Ichthus College in Drachten in 1990 and later studied Communication Science and English at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, graduating in 1997. Since 2000, she has worked at Scriptstudio, contributing to soap operas like Goudkust and Goede tijden, slechte tijden. She served as head writer for Goede tijden, slechte tijden from 2008 to 2012 and took on a leading role for the series StartUp in 2013, later also working as a showrunner for Nieuwe Tijden.
