Jarmo Porola was a Finnish television producer and director born on March 29, 1943, in Lapua. He began his career during the early days of Finnish television, initially working as a studio and television director at Tesvision in the early 1960s. He later joined Yleisradio's TV 2, serving as a reporter, editorial manager, and planning manager from 1964 to 1987. Porola also worked as the entertainment manager at Mainos-TV from 1973 to 1974. In 1986, he co-founded VipVision with Kalervo Kummola. He directed around 2,400 television programs in his career.
