Jarmo Virmavirta, born on May 9, 1940, is a Finnish journalist educated in law. He has served as the editor-in-chief for Turun Sanomat and Uusi Suomi, and led the news department at Yleisradio. Living in Tallinn since 2001, he writes columns for Postimees. An author of several books, his works cover topics such as golf and Turku's history, as well as the biography of singer Eino Grön. He enjoys watercolor painting and has exhibited in both Estonia and Finland. Virmavirta has also been awarded the title of professor in Finland.
