Jaroslav Macek was a Czech archivist and historian, best known for serving as the chancellor of the Litoměřice diocese from 1993 to 2007. Born on December 19, 1925, in Žitenice, he dedicated much of his career to historical preservation and archiving. Macek was a family man, married and father to two children. He passed away on February 26, 2008, in Litoměřice.
