Jaroslav Strnad is a Czech Indologist born on December 20, 1954, in Prague. He studied at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. His research focuses primarily on Hindi and Sanskrit, as well as ancient and medieval India. Strnad's scholarly efforts are directed towards the religious, cultural, and social development of medieval northern India. He works as a research worker at the Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences and also teaches at Charles University.
