Jarugu Narasimha Moorthy is an Indian organic photochemist born in 1964. He serves as the director of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Thiruvananthapuram. Previously, he held the Dr. Jag Mohan Garg Chair Professorship at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. His research focuses on organic photochemistry and supramolecular chemistry. Moorthy is an elected fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Indian Academy of Sciences. In 2008, he received the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.
