Jasir Ammouri is a Palestinian-Jordanian poet born on October 25, 1935, in Tulkarm. He was raised and educated there, with his father being a figure in the 1936 Palestinian revolt. Ammouri earned a diploma in 1955 from the Teachers' House in Amman and later continued his higher education at the University of Basra in Iraq, obtaining several degrees in civil engineering, urban planning, and project management. He taught high school in his homeland from 1956 to 1965 and worked as an engineer in Kuwait, Iraq, and Yemen. He has many poetry collections and other publications.
