Jason Marsalis is an American jazz drummer born on March 4, 1977, into a musical family. His father, Ellis Marsalis, is a pianist, and three of his brothers are also musicians: Wynton (trumpet), Branford (saxophone), and Delfeayo (trombone). He co-founded the band Los Hombres Calientes in 1998. Although primarily a drummer, he released an album titled 'Music Update' in 2009 where he played the vibraphone. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with several musicians, including Bruce Hornsby and Béla Fleck.
