Jaume Vilà i Comas was a Spanish trumpet player and composer of sardanas born on April 5, 1917, in l'Armentera, Alt Empordà. He began his music career at 15, joining the cobla Emporitana until 1936. After the war, he became the lead trumpet for La Principal de l'Escala, performing alongside his father and brother. Following the dissolution of the cobla in 1957, he moved to La Principal de Figueres, where he played until 1971 when illness forced him to retire. Some of his prominent sardanas include 'Festa assenyalada' and 'Saltant les roques'.
