Javier Arzuaga Lasagabaster (1928-2017) was a Basque Franciscan friar from Oñati, Gipuzkoa, who was ordained as a priest in 1952. Shortly after, he was sent to Cuba, where he became a prominent figure in the community and served as a parochial vicar. During the Cuban Revolution, he was appointed as a chaplain at La Cabaña Prison. Arzuaga left the priesthood in 1974 and married Stella Andino in Puerto Rico. He spent his final years in the Atlanta area.
