Jay Messina is an American sound engineer from New York. Over his career, he has worked with various music groups and artists including Aerosmith and Kiss. He owns a studio named West End Studio in his Manhattan home. As a teenager, he played the vibraphone in amateur bands. He began his professional career in 1965 as an assistant on a film soundtrack for Ravi Shankar, later working at A&R Recording and then at Record Plant, where he was impressed by the sound quality of the monitoring systems.
