His song 'Ashokan Farewell' gained fame as part of Ken Burns' documentary series on the Civil War. Ungar co-founded Fiddle Fever and the Ashokan Fiddle & Dance Camps. He has collaborated with his wife, Molly Mason, on multiple musical projects.
