Jayaweera Kuruppu (1908–1962) was a significant Ceylonese politician known for his roles in local government and the establishment of political parties. He served as vice chairman of the Provincial Council of Ratnapura and chairman of the Ratnapura Urban Council. Kuruppu was elected to parliament in 1951 as a member of the United National Party, later switching to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, where he became a key member. He was elected for Ratnapura in the 1956 elections and served as Minister of Local Government and Cultural Affairs.
