He is recognized for his unique finger technique on bass guitar, known as Indian slap bass, which earned him international acclaim. He has performed with notable artists and bands, including Trinaad, Afro Tala, and Firefly. Apart from being a musician, Jayen is a playback singer and has contributed to the Malayalam film Koothara. He previously worked as a gazetted officer before fully dedicating himself to a music career.
