Jaynie Margaret Hudgell, born on April 17, 1956, is a retired freestyle swimmer from New Zealand. She represented her country at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and achieved notable success at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games, winning a gold medal in the women's 800 m freestyle and a bronze in the 400 m freestyle. Growing up in Christchurch, she attended Villa Maria College and has been recognized with multiple places named after her, including Jaynie Parkhouse Drive and Parkhouse Reserve. In 2021, she took on the role of president of Swimming New Zealand.
