He gained fame in the 1980s as the president and a leading performer of the musical group Wenge Musica alongside notable artists like Werrason and Didier Masela until the group's split in 1997. Following this, he formed Wenge BCBG, collaborating with most former group members. In 1997, he released his first solo album, 'Feux de l’amour,' featuring the popular track 'Ndombolo,' which contributed to his prominence in the rumba, ndombolo, and soukous genres.
