He used several pseudonyms throughout his career, including Jean-Simon Rutalais, Pierre Mérou, Saint-Alban, and Mérou. A member of the French resistance during the Occupation, he later faced imprisonment for collaboration. After his release, he reinvented himself as a writer. Acquaviva contributed to various publications, creating series like Bill Jourdan and Tony Sextant, and worked in French television, retiring in 1984. He passed away on March 14, 2015.
