Jean Daninos was a French entrepreneur and automobile designer born on December 2, 1906, in Paris to Greek parents. He began his career at Citroën in 1928 and contributed to the iconic Citroën Traction Avant. An accomplished athlete, he competed in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. In 1939, he founded Facel, initially producing aircraft parts and later transitioning to luxury car manufacturing, including the Facel Vega. Despite initial success, challenges in production led to his resignation in 1961, and Facel ceased operations in 1964. He died on October 13, 2001, and was interred in Jouy-en-Josas.
