Jean Darot was a French athlete born on January 6, 1931, in Vaucresson and passed away on August 25, 2018, in Saran. He specialized in discus throw and shot put. Darot participated in the European Championships in 1950 and 1954 but did not advance to the finals in either event. He placed fifth in both disciplines at the 1955 Mediterranean Games in Barcelona and finished 11th in the discus final at the 1959 Summer Universiade. He was a national champion in discus throw from 1953 to 1955 and held personal bests of 50.95 m and 15.01 m in discus and shot put, respectively.
