Jean Decroos (1932-2008) was a French cellist who lived and worked in the Netherlands. He spent over 30 years as the principal cellist for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. Decroos studied at the Paris Conservatory and performed in various countries. He recorded numerous works, including those of Dvořák and Brahms, and co-founded the Guarneri Trio. He was a professor at major conservatories and passed away suddenly during a concert in 2008 due to heart failure.
