Jean-François Klein was a Swiss civil engineer born on March 8, 1961, in Colmar, who passed away on April 25, 2018. He studied and obtained a doctorate in civil engineering at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. Klein worked for the engineering firm Walther Mory Maier Bauingenieure AG and, from 1993 to 2007, at Tremblet S.A. in Geneva, where he became a partner in 1995. Notable for his bridge designs, he contributed to the Yavuz-Sultan-Selim Bridge in Istanbul and the Fontaine Gorge Bridge in Réunion.
