Jean-Paul Ribes is a French journalist and writer born on December 23, 1939, in Tours. He is a specialist in Tibet and Buddhism. Over the years, he has aligned with various political movements, including the Mendedesist movement and Maoism, before converting to Buddhism in 1982. Ribes established the Committee of Support for the Tibetan People in 1987 after visiting Tibet. He is still actively involved with this association as president. In 1997, he co-founded Belles Plantes with his wife, which focuses on creating therapeutic gardens.
