Jean Pons, born on May 29, 1969, in Toulouse, Haute-Garonne, France, is a former French discus thrower. He competed in two major championships but failed to reach the finals in both events. At the 1997 World Championships in Athens, his qualification result was 59.46 meters, and at the 1998 European Championships in Budapest, he achieved a throw of 55.80 meters. Pons won the French Championship three times from 1995 to 1997. In May 1997, he set a national record of 64.74 meters, surpassing Patrick Journoud's record by 1.72 meters, which was held for nearly nine years.
