Jeffrey 'Jeff' Lewis Hardy is an accomplished Australian swimmer born on March 13, 1959, in Narrabri, New South Wales. Despite having a vision impairment, he achieved remarkable success in competitive swimming. At the 1996 Atlanta Paralympics, he won two gold medals and a bronze, followed by another gold medal in the 2000 Sydney Paralympics. Hardy also set a world record in the 1500 m S12 event in 1997, which remains unbeaten. He was recognized for his contributions to sports with a Medal of the Order of Australia and was inducted into the Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
