Jeffrey Kindersley Quill (1913-1996) was a notable British test pilot known for his contributions during World War II and his role with the Supermarine Spitfire. He was the second pilot to fly the Spitfire, succeeding chief test pilot Joseph Summers. Quill flight-tested every version of the Spitfire, which evolved from a prototype to a key asset in the Royal Air Force’s success in the Battle of Britain, contributing significantly to Allied air dominance in Europe. He later authored two books focusing on the Spitfire.
