Jehangir Kabir was an Indian Bengali politician and prominent trade union leader. Born on April 26, 1910, in Faridpur, he pursued a law degree from Calcutta University. During the Quit India Movement in 1942, he transitioned from law to union leadership. Kabir served in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly as a Congress member, later joining the Bangla Congress party and becoming the Minister for Planning and Development. He subsequently formed the Bangla Jatiya Dal. Kabir passed away in Calcutta in 1981. His family includes notable figures in the judiciary.
