Jens Arne Molvær was a Norwegian jazz musician born on December 16, 1940, and he passed away on October 10, 2023. He played saxophone and clarinet, performing with the Oddvar Ask quartet from 1966 to 1969 and at the Storyville Jazz Club from 1969 to 1972. He co-founded Ytre Suløens Jassensemble, active from 1973 to 1987, and contributed to their recordings starting in 1974. His solo album was released in 1999, and in 2016 he collaborated with Lena Nymark. Molvær was involved in 23 recording sessions in jazz from 1974 to 2010 and was the father of trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær.
