He gained popularity in the 1930s through the 1950s, known for his melodious popular songs and charming crooner style. Often compared to Bing Crosby, he had a significant impact on Norwegian revue art post-war. With over 400 recordings, he created many hits, toured extensively, and served as the director of the Chat Noir theater. He returned to prominence in the 1970s and even released new music in 2007, showcasing his lasting influence.
