Jens Erik Jensen was a Danish entrepreneur and engineer, known for his significant role in the spread and standardization of the COMAL programming language, which was developed by Børge Christensen, Benedict Løfstedt, and others during the 1970s and 1980s. He was born in Horsens and completed his education at Grenå Gymnasium and later as an engineer from DTH. While studying, he worked part-time at Instrutek in Horsens, where he created his first version of COMAL for PET computers.
