He served as the rector of the Danish School of Media and Journalism from August 1, 2011, to January 31, 2019. A journalism graduate from the Danish School of Journalism, he worked at Jyllands-Posten, initially as a reporter and later as editor. Hansen has held multiple leadership roles, including being a co-founder of Pluss Leadership A/S and having served as Spain's honorary consul in Denmark since 1993. He is married and resides in Aarhus.
