Jens Ringsmose is a Danish academic, born on February 6, 1973, in Glostrup. He holds a cand.mag. degree in history and a Ph.D. in international politics, both from the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). He has held various positions including lecturer and researcher at the Danish Institute for Military Studies, and department head at SDU. Ringsmose became the director of the Institute for Military Operations at the Defense Academy in 2016 and returned to SDU as dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2019. He assumed the role of rector at SDU in November 2021.
