Jeong Eun-kyeong is a South Korean expert in infectious diseases and public health, currently serving as the director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) since July 2017, appointed by President Moon Jae-in. She is the first woman to lead the agency since its establishment. Prior to her current role, she managed the public health emergency response center and was known for her work during the MERS outbreak in 2015. Jeong holds multiple degrees from Seoul National University, including a master's in public health and a medical degree.
