He contributed to the political debate through songs and poems that highlighted social justice and resistance against exploitation and oppression. He supported grassroots movements against the European Community, war, and nuclear power. Jensen wrote various revue texts and translated works of poets like Goethe. His infamous song 'Øjet' led to a blasphemy trial. He graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a degree in psychology in 1957.
