Presently, he is the chief compliance officer and general counsel at Vistria Group and is on the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. Ruiz has over 20 years of legal experience as a partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath and is a former president of the Chicago Bar Association. In 2018, he ran for Illinois Attorney General.
