She began her R&B career in 2002 and released her first album, 'My Name Is Jhené', in 2003. After a hiatus, she returned in 2011 with 'Sailing Soul' and signed with Def Jam. Notable works include 'Sail Out' and 'Souled Out'. Aiko is also known for her spiritual beliefs, having been baptized at age 16, and she has faced personal challenges, including the loss of her brother and surviving a car accident.
