Born on April 22, 1903, she claimed to be the representative of Amaterasu, the Japanese goddess of the sun, and positioned herself as the ruler of Japan. Jikōson was notable for being one of the first female leaders of Japanese new religions to gain public attention during the late 1940s. She played a significant role in the spiritual landscape of Japan during that era.
