Jim Alves, born Percival Harold Alves on January 2, 1916, in Glastonbury, was a prominent English motorcyclist known for his achievements in trial and enduro competitions during the 1940s and 1950s, primarily riding Triumph motorcycles. He was part of the British team that won the Silver Vase at the ISDT in 1948 and achieved the highest award, the Trophy, four more times between 1949 and 1953. Additionally, he excelled in the Scott Trial and was the first champion of the British Championship in 1950, also competing in motocross and grasstrack.
