Henry James Bradley was an influential English journalist and trade unionist, born on November 9, 1904. He started his journalism career at the Craven Chronicle before working for the Evening Chronicle in Manchester. Bradley joined the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) in 1923 and became its general secretary in 1952, overseeing a significant increase in membership. He served as president of the International Federation of Journalists from 1964 to 1970. In recognition of his services, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1969.
