Jim Cronin was an American animal rights activist and the founder of Monkey World, a primate rescue center located near Wool, Dorset, England. Born on November 15, 1951, in Yonkers, New York, he dedicated his life to the protection of primates and their habitats. Under his leadership, Monkey World became home to one of the largest groups of primates outside Africa and Asia. The rescue center collaborates with various animal welfare organizations and government agencies to combat the illegal trade of monkeys and primates from Africa and Asia.
