James Eric Hodder was a notable Canadian politician representing Port au Port in Newfoundland and Labrador's House of Assembly from 1975 to 1993 and again from 2003 to 2007. Initially a member of the Liberal Party, he switched to the Progressive Conservative party in 1985. A graduate with degrees in history and education, he worked as a high school teacher and principal before his political career. Hodder retired in January 2007 due to health issues and passed away on March 2, 2021.
