Jim Keays (1946-2014) was a Scottish-born Australian musician best known as the lead singer, songwriter, guitarist, and harmonica player for the rock band The Masters Apprentices from 1965 to 1972. He had a solo career with several albums and wrote for the music newspaper Go-Set. The band had multiple Top 20 hits in Australia and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1998. After battling cancer, Keays passed away in 2014 due to pneumonia-related complications.
