He began his racing career in the Barber Saab Pro Series in 1988 and achieved notable success in sports car racing. Pace won the GTU class at the 1990 24 Hours of Daytona and later secured overall victory in the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona in 1996. Despite facing challenges, he continued racing in various series, including vintage events, until his untimely death from COVID-19 on November 13, 2020, in Memphis, Tennessee.
