He began his professional career in 1984 after being drafted by the Houston Rockets. Standing 6 feet 10 inches tall, he played as a forward/center in the NBA, where he scored a total of 3,397 points, averaging 6.9 points per game before retiring from playing in 1992. He is now the head coach for the Minnesota Lynx in the Women's National Basketball Association.
