Jim Alan Piper is a retired Australian Olympic swimmer born on August 13, 1981. Active in competition from 2002-2007, he represented Australia at the 2004 Summer Olympics, placing 19th in the 100-metre breaststroke and finishing 9th in the 4×100-metre medley relay. Known for his success at the Commonwealth Games, he won gold in the 200-metre breaststroke in 2002 and bronze in 2006. He set a record at the 2002 Short Course World Championships, achieving a time of 2:07.16 in the same event. Since 2013, he has served on the board of Swimming Western Australia.
